You may have already seen these chewing gums in films or TV reports. It's normal, Bazooka Bubble Gum has existed since 1947, they arrived in the USA just after the Second World War. Success quickly took hold with chewing gum sold at the time for 1 cent.
In 1953 the Topps company decided to improve its packaging by adding a mini comic strip in each bubble gum with a fictional character aka Bazooka Joe. Some fans started wanting to collect all the packaging, there were more than 1500. But in 2012 the manufacturer decided to remove this packaging, and say goodbye to the mini comic book.
But in 2019, a step back following fan discontent, Topps will once again bring its famous chewing gum up to date by once again wrapping its bubbles in comic strips.
