The Story of Brach's Candy

In 1904, Emil J. Brach courageously invested $1,000 of his savings to bring a sweet dream to life: " Brach's Palace of Sweets", a candy store located in Chicago on the corner of North Avenue and Towne Street. Under his leadership, the company prospered quickly, by 1923 producing no fewer than 127 varieties of candy. However, in 2003 the historic factory was abandoned, but new owners took over the reins, moving production to Mexico to maintain the worldwide reputation of Brach's Candy.

In 2007, Brach's Candy took a new turn with its acquisition by Farley's & Sathers Candy Company, ushering in a new era in the industry. An unexpected scene also made history in August 2007, when Brach's administrative building was destroyed for a special effects scene in the film "The Dark Knight Batman." Finally, in 2012, the merger with the Ferrara Pan Candy Company created the Ferrara Candy Company, cementing Brach's legacy in the American sweet landscape.
