Barq was established in 1871 by Edward Charles Edmond Barq Sr. who was born to French parents in New Orleans. Mr. Barq moves to the resort town of Biloxi, Mississippi. It was at this time that he bottled and sold his first Barq's drinks. Its unusual and sharp taste attracts a unique audience. The rest, as they say, is history.
