Samyang: Welcome to the world of "Buldak" 🌶️🔥
If you spend any time on YouTube or TikTok, you're bound to recognize that slightly crazy little chicken on the packaging. Samyang is the Korean brand that set the world on fire with its Buldak noodles ("Fire Chicken").
What started as a simple instant meal has become a global phenomenon: the "Fire Noodle Challenge." At Pop's America , we import the most sought-after flavors directly from Korea. Whether you're looking to suffer (a little) or indulge (a lot), there's a Samyang pack for you.
More🎨 The Colour Guide (To avoid mistakes)
Each package color corresponds to a flavor and a level of spice. Here's how to choose your weapon:
- The BLACK Pack (Original): Where it all began. The classic "Hot Chicken" flavor. It's already very hot (approximately 4400 on the Scoville scale).
- The RED Pack ( 2x Spicy ): The final boss. Twice as strong as the original. For daredevils who want to test their limits. Get the milk ready!
- The PINK Pack ( Carbonara ): The absolute bestseller. It's the brilliant fusion of Korean heat and the smoothness of Italian cream. It's spicy, but the creamy side soothes the heat. It's delicious.
- The YELLOW Packet ( Cheese ): Hot sauce mixed with cheese powder (cheddar type). Gourmet and "Cheesy".
- The PURPLE (Mala) or GREEN (Jjajang) Packet: (Depending on availability) To discover Chinese spices or traditional black bean sauce.

⚠️ Warning: These are not soups!
This is the number one mistake beginners make. To appreciate a Samyang Buldak, you must follow the "Stir-Fry" (Sautéing) method:
- Boil the noodles in water (5 min).
- Pour out the water! (Just leave the equivalent of 8 tablespoons at the bottom).
- Add the liquid sauce to the drained noodles.
- Stir-fry (or mix vigorously) for 30 seconds so that the sauce coats the noodles well.
- Add the flakes (seaweed/sesame) at the end. If you eat them swimming in water like a regular soup, it will be bland and much less tasty!
❓ FAQ - Spicy Minute
Is it Halal?
Yes! The vast majority of exported Samyang noodles (those with "Hochi" chicken on the package) are Halal certified. The logo is usually visible on the back or front of the package.
How to calm the fire?
If you overestimated your strength with the red pack (2x), don't drink water! Korean tip: Keep a glass of milk , yogurt, or a dairy drink handy. The fat in the milk dissolves the capsaicin (the chili pepper). You can also add grated cheese (Mozzarella) directly to your hot noodles—it's divine!
Which is the best one to start with?
We recommend the Carbonara (Pink) or the Cheese (Yellow) . They are quite spicy, but the mildness of the milk/cheese makes the experience much more pleasant for beginners.
