After working as a dairy farmer and foreman for Milton S. Hershey's company, HB Reese decided to start his own business and in 1923 founded the HB Reese Candy Company in the basement of his Hershey home, in Pennsylvania.
From the beginning, Reese used Hershey Company chocolate to make his desserts. Thanks to the great success of his Reese's Peanut Butter Cups , designed towards the end of 1928, Reese decided to stop production of all other candies he owned.
