Chef Larry named his sauce Sweet Baby Ray's in honor of his younger brother David, nicknamed Shootin' Hoops in Chicago's West Side. On the day of the competition, Sweet Baby Ray's sauce triumphed over nearly 700 participants , a remarkable achievement for a then-unknown brand. Following this success, the brand expanded rapidly and now offers more than 20 iconic flavors .
