Nestlé Yorkie Duo Original is the double-bar version of the UK's most robust milk chocolate. The ingredients include sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, vegetable fats (palm, shea), whey powder product (milk), skimmed milk powder, butterfat (milk) and emulsifier (lecithins). The milk chocolate contains a minimum of 25% cocoa solids and 14% milk solids, with vegetable fats in addition to cocoa butter.
The flavour profile stands out with a bold, straightforward chocolate intensity. Whole milk powder brings a smooth creaminess, while the cocoa mass delivers an assertive chocolate taste. Texture is the key element: each chunk is thick, dense and satisfying, providing a massive crunch that slowly releases rich, melting chocolate on the palate. The Duo format features two bars of three chunks each, perfect for two indulgent breaks.
Yorkie traces its roots back to 1924 under the name "York Chocolate", a bar produced by Rowntree's in York, England. During the Second World War, it was the only chocolate Rowntree's continued to make, sent to refugees and included in soldiers' ration packs. After being discontinued in 1966, the bar was relaunched in 1976 as Yorkie, positioned as the chunky, no-nonsense alternative to other chocolate bars. Its famous TV adverts featured long-distance lorry drivers with the tagline "Yorkie – chunky milk chocolate".
